Understanding the Concept
"Beautiful, witty, charismatic, intelligent, and independent — this is how a woman’s beauty should be defined, not by her makeup or high heels."
Mixage’s photographic project explores the many themes a woman faces in her daily life. To survive these slices of life, she relies on tools of defense (symbolized by a weapon), stays grounded in every situation (represented by her shoes), and each theme is illustrated by a symbolic object.
A woman is not merely a physical body; she embodies strength, courage, and dignity. Every woman, regardless of her experiences, is a sensitive being deserving of respect. Each woman will recognize herself in one of these photographs, and every man will see a woman he once knew.
Understanding the Title
"Mort-elle" — a play on the words "mort" (death) and "elle" (her) — defines the concept of the femme fatale, the “mortelle” woman.
Understanding the Poster
The poster carries a double meaning and is a wink to men, who are absent from the main themes.
At first glance, it signifies that the woman will fight for a man. On a second glance, he must remain careful: one wrong move, and she only needs to lower her stiletto heel to pull the pin and make him explode! Beware, gentlemen — she is MORTELLE !
