"Un été de trop" by Isabelle Aeschlimann & "Berlin vit" by Mixage | November 2012
Two young artists—one a novelist, the other a photographer—join forces to immerse the audience in the world of the book through the photographic exhibition Berlin VIT.
During the Berlin Painting exhibition, Mixage met Isabelle Aeschlimann-Petignat, the author of the novel One Summer Too Many. Isabelle invited her to display photographs of Berlin during the launch of her first book. This collaboration marked the birth of the photographic exhibition Berlin VIT.
It was the beginning of a beautiful adventure and friendship. Mixage returned to Berlin, this time capturing the vibrant life of the city. The resulting work focuses primarily on people—in the afternoon light outside a club, in a café, at a demonstration, at the train station, or in the subway.
Most of the photographs are printed on aluminum panels, with two displayed on PVC banners. For this series, Mixage applied a cross-processing (TC) treatment to give the images a vintage feel, perfectly echoing the atmosphere of the city and the novel "Un été de trop".
This collection of photographs was created with the impulse of the heart. It embodies Mixage’s ideal of life and serves as a driving force toward her ultimate goal: to live in Berlin.
The first launch / opening took place in Isabelle’s home canton, in Porrentruy, followed by a second evening in Lausanne, and finally concluding in Grandson.
